In celebration of the 17th European Patients’ Rights Day, on 26th of April, Active Citizenship Network organised an event in the European Parliament focusing on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products in Europe: combining sustainability, innovation and respect for patients’ rights.
All.Can International, though Thanos Kosmidis’s (CareAcross) voice, contributed to the debate and highlighted that efficiency in cancer care, and especially in advanced therapies, is not simply about cutting costs – but rather about funneling investments to enable patients to reap the highest value.
Thanos also underscored the particular importance of sharing data from clinical trials for advanced therapies in order to optimise clinical development efforts, and that this must be done respecting patients’ privacy at each step of the process.
