All.Can International is pleased to announce that the Hellenic Cancer Federation – ELLOK has recently joined our organisation as a member.

The Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK), founded in 2016, is a patient-led non-profit organization with 49 members of Cancer Patient Associations, representing various cancers and regions of the country, with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse landscape of cancer care in Greece. The organization’s overarching aim is to realize a vision of comprehensive, timely, and affordable cancer care for all patients, encompassing stellar diagnosis, treatment, psycho-social support, and survivorship care, which extends to rehabilitation and seamless reintegration into social life. ELLOK’s mission is a testament to its commitment to advocating for cancer policy and research, working in tandem with its members and partners to champion the individual and collective rights of cancer patients to high-quality healthcare. By joining forces with stakeholders, ELLOK endeavors to influence policy decisions and contribute to the shift from evidence-based to value-based cancer care.

Since its inception in 2016, the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK) has pursued a range of goals and priorities aligned with those of All.Can International. Central to ELLOK’s mission is the empowerment of cancer patients and their active participation in their care. To achieve this, ELLOK organizes diverse initiatives, including conferences, workshops, webinars, and informational campaigns, designed to provide patients with practical skills and knowledge. These efforts aim to foster a supportive environment where patients can take an active role in their healthcare journey and decision-making process. At the same time, ELLOK works to inform policymakers and healthcare professionals about the multidimensional benefits of involving patients in cancer care. ELLOK also places significant emphasis on primary and secondary prevention through various awareness campaigns. These initiatives provide scientifically validated information on a wide range of cancers, both common and rare, to the general public. To engage its audience effectively, ELLOK employs modern interactive tools such as quizzes, infographics, podcasts, videos, and social media platforms, creating compelling content that educates and empowers. Having established itself as the leading advocate for oncology patients in Greece, ELLOK engages in ongoing consultations with policymakers, universities, academics, and healthcare professional associations to advance cancer-related policies. Key initiatives include advocating for the establishment of a National Cancer Registry and the implementation of a National Cancer Plan. Through its involvement in oncology-focused stakeholder clusters, such as All.Can Greece, and through the submission of memoranda, annotations, and participation in meetings with authorities, ELLOK addresses the challenges and needs of cancer patients.
