On the occasion of World Cancer Day 2024, under UICC’s guidance, we focus on a crucial theme: engaging with those in power to advance cancer care efficiency.

Throughout 2024, All. Can International has actively participated in various initiatives advocating for efficient and equitable cancer care. Notable achievements include the development of a digital map that monitors the incorporation of efficiency measures and performance indicators into national cancer care policies and plans. This tool enables us to track countries’ progress in adopting efficient practices, technologies, and data systems.

Additionally, we have made significant strides in implementing efficiency metrics by creating a Playbook, set to launch early this spring. This resource serves as a guide for those interested in including performance indicators into their respective settings.

As part of the 4P-CAN consortium, focusing on primary prevention in cancer care, we reiterate our commitment to advancing innovative approaches in the fight against cancer.

Collaborating with the EFPIA Oncology Platform and four of our national initiatives in the EU – Belgium, Italy, Romania, and Spain – we have actively promoted the adoption of new screening guidelines approved by the EU Council in late 2023. This collaboration involves direct engagement with national policymakers to address the unique challenges and opportunities in implementing screening programs in each country.

Furthermore, many of our national initiatives have proactively collaborated with their respective governments, health ministries, and key decision-makers to contribute to the formulation of improved cancer care policies and frameworks.
