We had the privilege of joining colleagues from across the globe for the unveiling of the UICC World Cancer Declaration 2025–2035 at the World Cancer Leaders Summit, a milestone that reaffirms our shared ambition to accelerate progress against cancer and deliver meaningful, measurable improvements for people everywhere.

The new Declaration provides a clear, actionable roadmap for the decade ahead. Its global targets, priority action domains and guiding principles of equity, collaboration, evidence, sustainability and accountability reflect a maturing global consensus about what is needed to change the trajectory of cancer outcomes. Importantly, these principles also align closely with the practical realities that health systems face, from implementing effective prevention and early detection strategies to ensuring access to timely, coordinated and person-centred care.

As representatives of All.Can within this global discussion, we are proud that All.Can endorses the Declaration. Its vision resonates deeply with our mission: to improve the efficiency of cancer care so that every human, financial and technological resource contributes to the best possible outcomes for patients and society.

Efficiency, as we define it, is not synonymous with cost-cutting. It is about ensuring that systems function in a way that enables:

  • Timely and accurate diagnosis
  • Smooth, coordinated care pathways
  • Informed decision-making for patients and clinicians
  • Meaningful involvement of people living with cancer throughout their care journey

The Declaration’s emphasis on strengthening data ecosystems, fostering people-centred care, enabling early detection and building resilient, future-proof health systems strongly reflects the priorities All.Can has championed. These themes are embedded in the All.Can Action Guide for Efficient Cancer Care, which provides practical guidance and tools for stakeholders across health systems.

The next decade must be defined not only by ambition, but by action. All.Can is committed to supporting the implementation of the World Cancer Declaration by:

  • Promoting efficiency metrics as a core component of national cancer strategies and system performance
  • Advancing preparedness, helping countries identify practical ways to future-proof cancer care
  • Convening evidence, tools and multi-stakeholder collaboration to support meaningful system transformation

Through the collective efforts of our global network, we will continue to demonstrate how efficiency can be a driver of equity, quality and sustainability ensuring resources are used in ways that matter most to people living with cancer.

The 2025–2035 Declaration is more than a statement of intent; it is a framework for measurable progress that every country, institution and stakeholder can rally behind. As we look ahead, we are confident that by working together guided by evidence, grounded in patient needs, and committed to accountability we can shape a future where prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and end-of-life care are accessible, timely and centred on what truly matters to people.

We look forward to contributing to this collective endeavour and to seeing the Declaration inspire real-world improvements in cancer care across Europe and around the globe.
