As an Advisory Group member of Mission Early, All.Can is proud to share recent progress in advancing early cancer care across Europe. Mission Early has published a new op-ed in The Parliament Magazine, calling on European policymakers to prioritise early cancer care in the healthcare policy agenda.
The op-ed outlines key policy recommendations, including:
- Enhancing data collection and integrating findings into the EU Cancer Inequalities Registry.
- Improving health literacy and delivering on Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
- Ensuring equitable access to innovative treatments and screening programs.
Recent research conducted in partnership with Bocconi University shows that while countries like Denmark and the Netherlands are leading in early cancer care, significant work remains across the continent. The findings highlight the importance of integrated approaches, seamless patient pathways, and centralized treatment in specialised centres.
With over 3.7 million new cancer cases and 1.7 million deaths annually in Europe, the need for early detection and treatment has never been more urgent. Survival rates are considerably higher when cancer is diagnosed at an early stage.
Mission Early’s vision is clear: make early detection and treatment the norm—not the exception—in the fight against cancer.
